LOS ESTILOS DE INVESTIGACIÓN MÁS USADOS

 Las normas de investigación académica establecen reglas para la presentación de referencias, citas y bibliografías. Entre los estilos más utilizados se encuentran Chicago, APA, MLA y Vancouver. A continuación, te explico sus principales características: 

1. Estilo Chicago (Chicago Manual of Style - CMS)

Se usa en humanidades, historia y algunas ciencias sociales. Tiene dos sistemas de citación: 

🔹 Notas y bibliografía (NB): Usa notas al pie de página o al final del documento y una bibliografía. 

🔹 Autor-fecha: Similar a APA, usa citas en el texto con el apellido del autor y el año (Smith 2020, 45). 

Ejemplo de referencia en notas y bibliografía: 

- Libro: John Smith, The History of Time (New York: Oxford University Press, 2020), 45. 

- Bibliografía: Smith, John. The History of Time. New York: Oxford University Press, 2020. 

 

2. Estilo APA (American Psychological Association, 7ª ed.) 

Predomina en psicología, educación y ciencias sociales. Usa el sistema autor-fecha en el texto y una lista de referencias al final. 

Ejemplo de referencia en APA: 

- Libro: Smith, J. (2020). The history of time. Oxford University Press. 

- Artículo: Smith, J. (2020). Time and memory. Journal of History, 45(2), 123-145. https://doi.org/xxxxx 

 

3. Estilo MLA (Modern Language Association, 9ª ed.) 

Utilizado en literatura, artes y humanidades. Usa citas en el texto con el apellido del autor y la página. 

Ejemplo de referencia en MLA: 

- Libro: Smith, John. The History of Time. Oxford UP, 2020. 

- Artículo: Smith, John. "Time and Memory." Journal of History, vol. 45, no. 2, 2020, pp. 123-145. 

 

4. Estilo Vancouver 

Es común en ciencias médicas y biológicas. Usa números en el texto [1] que corresponden a una lista numerada en la bibliografía. 

Ejemplo de referencia en Vancouver:

- Libro: Smith J. The history of time. 2nd ed. New York: Oxford University Press; 2020.

- Artículo: Smith J. Time and memory. Journal of History. 2020;45(2):123-145.
